This evening (Thursday), hundreds of residents of Judea and Samaria took to the streets to protest the deteriorating security situation and demanded that checkpoints at the entrances to Arab cities and villages, such as Nablus, be reinstated. They also called for preventing the entry of Arab workers into Jewish communities and industrial areas.
The demonstrators demanded that the IDF change its approach to Judea and Samaria given the fact that the previous conception of the IDF collapsed in the wake of the terrorist attack on October 7. "The removal of the checkpoints at the entrance to Nablus enabled an attack two weeks ago where Elhanan Klein HY”D was murdered. This morning, a larger attack was avoided due to the checkpoint at the entrance to Jerusalem," the demonstrators said.
In the attack this morning, IDF soldier Avraham Patna was killed at the Tunnels Checkpoint from Gush Etzion, and seven others were injured.
