This afternoon (Oct. 29th), Defense Minister Yoav Gallant signed an administrative detention order against Ariel Danino, a Jewish activist. The call on Gallant to reverse his decision and rescind the draconian order are growing.
A social media campaign, launched by dozens of soldiers stationed across the country, demands “Release Ariel Danino."
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir wrote on his Twitter account: "The administrative detention of aJewish pioneer guarding the front lines for the sake of the Jewish people is a travesty. These pioneers are being treated as the 'enemy,' in what is part of the mistaken prior conception that must be done away with. We must learn to differentiate clearly between friend and foe."
Member of Knesset Limor Son Har-Melech wrote on her Twitter account: "Last night, Ariel Danino was arrested by the Shin Bet, just like that, for no reason. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident, and the Defense Minister's move is part of a pattern that does not distinguish between friend and foe. Ariel represents the new generation and is a pillar of strength who feels no need to apologize for loving his people and his land. I call on the Defense Minister to focus on what truly matters and release Danino immediately."
Knesset member Tally Gotliv wrote on her Twitter account: "During a war, when Palestinians in Judea and Samaria are waiting to ambush us, it's a mark of shame that the Defense Minister, on the recommendation of the Shin Bet, signed an administrative detention order against a Jew."
