Muayad Shaaban, a senior terrorist who currently serves in the PA as the Minister of Against Fences and Settlements, visited Uja in the Jordan Valley as part of efforts by the the extreme left and the PA efforts against Jewish communities.
Shaaban, who is now working to organize encroachment on land in Judea and Samaria, has previously served considerable time in Israeli prison. Following a terror conviction, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison but was released early as part of the Taba Agreement 25 years ago.
HaKol HaYehudi and Fight for Every Dunam organization have now released a research report detailing the provocations and terror support by Shaaban and his team, most of whom are released terrorists, in their attempts to seize as much land as possible. The report shows that Shaaban maintains close ties with extreme left-wing organizations.
Shaaban continues to roam free despite his expressions of. support for Hamas and the Oct. 7th massacre at the beginning of the war. During that announcement he was surrounded by numerous terrorists who fired in the air.
Since his appointment, Shaaban has led violent protests weekly against Jewish communities and IDF soldiers. Among others, he has led violent protests in Khan al-Ahmar, Eviatar, Kadum, and near Jewish farms near Ariel and Elon Moreh. In one incident, he claimed to have been injured by soldiers during a protest he led in northern Samaria west of Hermesh.
About six months ago, the police opened an investigation against Shaaban for incitement following a complaint filed by attorney Avichai Hagbi on behalf of the 'Wake Up Israel' organization.
The complaint against Shaaban came after he called on others to join the fight against Israel following the Oct. 7th massacre.
Shaaban spoke at a rally in support of Gaza organized by the Palestinian Teachers Union and the National and Islamic Forces in Tulkarem. In his speech, Shaaban said, "Today, the flags have merged - the Fatah flag and the Hamas flag, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Islamic Jihad, and all our factions."
Later in the same speech, Shaaban stated, "Today, yes, we say loudly, repeat after me- with spirit, with blood, we will redeem you, oh Gaza...". In another quote from the same event, he again called for the terror movements against Israel to unite, saying, "Let us all shout together: unity, national unity, Fatah, Hamas, and the Popular Front." Shaaban concluded his speech with the slogan of the Muslim Brotherhood, saying, “We follow Allah’s path, we raise the flag for the glory of Islam.”
A week before then, Shaaban participated in the funerals of several terrorists killed during IDF operations in Tulkarem, where soldier Maxim Reznikov Z”L was killed. During the terrorists' funeral, Shaaban praised them and called for others to join the fight against Israel. Among other statements, Shaaban said, "Unity is the way out of the crisis and the path to our freedom. Our homeland is the most precious thing we have. We already have thousands of dead martyrs. We will bear the blood of the martyrs. We will bear the tears of their mothers. We will focus only on the occupation! Whoever says otherwise - is not one of us. They should not come to our funerals. They should leave. Whoever says otherwise, we will shoot him."
In the demand to indict Shaaban, it is noted that these are not his only statements of incitement and that other charges should also be included. For example, a few months ago Shaaban participated in a riot during which he burned and vandalized property belonging to a Jewish farm near Avnei Hefetz in Samaria. In another case, Shaaban was arrested for participating in riots and causing public unrest. The request by Attorney Hagbi concludes, "It appears that Shaaban is acting with more impunity over time, likely due to the failure of the Israeli police to take action against him so far.”
