The IDF authorized the entry of the Arab Bedouin janitorial staff to the base even during the war. The staff stole weapons and other equipment that was donated to soldiers by civilians as part of the war effort.

The writing was on the wall: Despite warnings from residents, the IDF allowed Arabs to harvest olives in a sensitive area. The Arabs attacked two Jews leaving one with serious injuries and the other with moderate injuries. "This was a very violent attack. One of the injured had lost consciousness and was convulsing," said a local resident who arrived at the scene.
Under cover of the “Olive Harvest” Arabs gather on main roads and near Jewish communities, enabling them to easily observe security procedures, monitor fences and potential entry points, and even throw stones at vehicles. Jewish residents must deal with the problem on their own.
Members of the General Security Services (GSS) Jewish Division have taken advantage of the current situation to pressure Rabbis, educators, and activists in Judea and Samaria. Recently, a former member of an elite commando unit was barred from participating in a neighborhood emergency security team. The GSS declined to comment.
